Growing Up Online

I agreed with some of the thing with the video for example that the social network is an extension of my life.  I can go to school socialize and continue socializing through text, Facebook and other social network sites. Social networking sites are very addictive and almost everyone only in my family has only, including my father and he stay on the computer from 8am to 12am and I only see him get up very few times. Before I build him his computer, he used to go out to hang out and go for walks.
Jessica did something most people did when MySpace was popular. Create a new identity, which was very common. The Internet gives people the opportunity to reinvent themselves and present themselves as a whole new individual. People tend to speak their mind when they’re hiding behind a computer screen. This leads to Cyber bullying and parents freaking out for the safety of their children. Before bulls where just in school and you can go home and try to forget about the horrible day; however, now kids go home and log into there social networking site and the bullying continues..
Parents can’t control their kids and their social networking site, because they’re not going to get their password especially once the get a bit older. It’s not rock science to bypass parental control. Kids use the Internet for their private world to get information to encourage their habit. The only thing parents can do is to educate there children about the internet and their risk.
